Through investigations and research students will develop their self-management and ability to communicate with others. Students will develop critical thinking skills as they link observations to theory. Students will explore the use of a range of scientific vocabulary.

Course Information

What Knowledge Will I Develop?

Students will gain an understanding of fundamental living world concepts to prepare them for further Biological study at University. Students will carry out a practical investigation in a biological context. Students will use biological ideas to explain trends in human evolution, and how an organisms’ responses provide a selective advantage in its niche. Students will use scientific evidence to explain evolutionary processes that lead to speciation. Students will research and explain how and why an animal maintains a stable internal environment despite fluctuating environmental conditions.
