School Uniform.



Parents and students may select items from the following lists. The uniform is purchased from the Pukekohe High School Uniform shop which is open Monday, Wednesday and Fridays and at other times in the Christmas school holidays as advertised in the Franklin County News.

The School Uniform shop is the only supplier of new uniform. (Excluding, boys trousers and socks). Limited stock of second-hand clothing is also available.

All students must wear correct regulation uniform at school, on the way to and from school, and on all official school trips. At all times clothing must be neat, clean and tidy and worn correctly.

All articles of clothing must be clearly named.


Boys/Girls Uniform

Boys and girls can wear the jersey, polo shirt and jacket.

  • School jersey
  • School jacket
  • Plain black lace-up leather shoes (non-suede)
  • Black or brown sandals with a heel strap - no socks to be worn with sandals
  • School cap/hat
  • Black scarf
  • Polo Shirt – short sleeve

Girls

  • White cotton shirt - short sleeve
  • Wool/Polyester charcoal skirt - knee length
  • White or black socks - knee length, or black opaque pantyhose

Boys

  • Charcoal grey cotton shorts
  • Trousers (available from Postie Plus)

Uniform Regulations

  • Skirts must be of appropriate length.
  • Garments must not be overlarge for the student.
  • No boots, sports shoes or sport boots are to be worn.
  • Items of clothing that are not listed above may not be worn as part of the uniform.
  • The uniform is to be worn at school, to and from school and at all school functions.

Year 13 Dress Code
The emphasis is on 'dressing up' and maintaining a high standard.
Good quality, appropriate clothing and footwear for school is essential.
Clothing should be clean, neat and in good condition.

  • T-shirts promoting alcohol/drugs, singlets, sleeveless tops and rugby jerseys are not to be worn.
  • The school's jewellery code must be
    observed.
Jeans are permissible but must be clean and in good condition. No trackpants allowable.

Dress Uniform -

Boys

  • Wool/polyester charcoal grey trousers
  • Light grey/white cotton shirt - long sleeve
  • School tie

Girls

  • Wool/polyester charcoal grey skirt - long
  • White cotton shirt - long/short sleeve
  • Blazer with school crest

Physical Education
Any clean, non-offensive shirt and shorts are permissable.
There must be a change of clothing from normal school uniform.
A tee-shirt or singlet in house colour is useful to have for inter-house competitions.

  • Blake - Silver/Black
  • Day - Red
  • Jellicoe - Blue
  • Massey - Green
  • Perkins - Yellow

Grooming
Hair must be clean and tidy. Extreme hairstyles and unnatural hair colour are not permitted.
Uniform must be clean and worn correctly.

  • Boys - must be clean shaven
  • Girls - no make up is to be worn.
    Only nail polish of a natural colour may be worn.

Jewellery
No jewellery of any sort may be worn apart from the following exceptions:

  • A watch
  • A medic-alert bracelet
  • One small stud or sleeper in each earlobe
  • One plain ring on one finger
One fine plain link chain around the neck or a necklace of religious/cultural significance
