The programme’s aim is to build relationships with kura and ākonga Māori across Tāmaki Makaurau and expand engagement beyond the walls of the gallery, into the community. This year the programme focused on the theme “Ko Wai Au” bringing together ākonga, and their kaiako with practising Māori photographers to equip ākonga with tools for expressing their story through the medium of photography.
The exhibition is up in the Auckland City Gallery for the next 2 weeks. It is open to the public.
Congratulations to Fern Taiapa whom has the honour of having her work selected to be the hero image for the entire exhibition! https://www.aucklandartgallery.com/whats-on/exhibition/student-exhibition-or-kiritai-or-beyond-the-walls
