During a recent 1-day workshop, a small group of Pukekohe High School students collaborated with Auckland Transport to help design their road safety campaign material specifically for Pukekohe. The creative work includes banners, posters, vests, flags, drink bottles and all merchandise to bring awareness to our pedestrian crossings and road safety for children. Future workshops are planned to continue this exciting work.
With Pukekohe being both rural and urban, materials designed for our community are able to be used through the rest of New Zealand also.
The students involved gained real world experience and learnt first hand about bridging the gap between school and the world of work. Having this opportunity allowed the students to see potential career pathways. Thank you to Auckland Transport for this invaluable experience.
