Mauri Ora e te Whānau,

Te Wāhanga Whakaako warmly invites you to join us on Tuesday 23 June 2026 from 4:30pm – 6:30pm for an evening of celebration, learning, and whanaungatanga.

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet our staff , explore what our faculty has to offer, and view examples of your children's mahi. Student work will be on display, showcasing the learning and experiences that take place throughout the year.

Our evening will be led by our rangatahi, who will guide whānau through our learning environments and share insights into what happens within our Te Māhuri and Tūwhitia spaces, as well as our wider curriculum areas.

There will also be a variety of fundraising stalls operating throughout the evening, with items available for less than $5. Feel free to bring a picnic or some kai to enjoy while our rangatahi entertain us with a selection of special items to acknowledge and celebrate our whānau.

We will gather together in Te Hīkoi at 4:30pm for a brief welcome before you are invited to explore our spaces, guided by our rangatahi.

We look forward to welcoming you and sharing an evening of connection, learning, and celebration.

Pukekohe High School is incredibly proud to celebrate former student Nyle Turuwhenua (Class of 2022) as she presents her first solo exhibition.

Since leaving PHS, Nyle has continued to establish herself as one of Aotearoa's most exciting emerging artists. During her time at PHS, Nyle achieved extraordinary success, being awarded NZ Top Scholar in Sculpture, Outstanding Scholarship in Design, Outstanding Scholarship in Photography, and Scholarship in Painting in 2022 — a remarkable accomplishment that reflected her exceptional talent across multiple artistic disciplines.

Her achievements have continued to grow, including winning the 2023 National Youth Art Awards with her powerful work Mahi Wahine?, receiving accolades at the Franklin Art Festival, Youth Art Awards, Earth Guardian Design Awards, and Wearable Art competitions.

Nyle has exhibited alongside professional artists, attended summer school with renowned New Zealand printmaker Faith McManus, and showcased her work at the national Ringa Toi Excellence in Māori Art Exhibition at Te Papa, where she was awarded second place in the People's Choice Award.

Her first solo exhibition marks a significant milestone in what is already an extraordinary artistic journey. Nyle's creativity, dedication, and commitment to her craft continue to inspire our students and wider community.

We congratulate Nyle on this exciting achievement and encourage our community to support this highly acclaimed emerging artist as she shares her work with the world.

Congratulations, Nyle — we are incredibly proud of all that you have achieved and can't wait to see where your artistic journey takes you next.

While Manurewa crossed the line for five tries to Pukekohe's four, the difference came through the accurate boot of second five-eighths Izaiah Sakisi, whose three conversions and a penalty proved decisive in the closely contested encounter.

The victory sees Pukekohe move to the top of the Counties Manukau standings, reflecting the team's hard work, resilience, and commitment throughout the season.

A fantastic achievement by the players, coaches, management, and supporters. We are incredibly proud of the way our team represented our kura and the values of puumautanga and kotahitanga on and off the field.
