At Pukekohe High School, we are proud to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where every student is encouraged to learn, grow, and succeed. Our values guide how we treat others, approach challenges, and contribute to our community.
Our Values
In 2024, we embarked on a journey to reimagine our school vales of Manaakitanga, Puumautanga, Kotahitanga and Aarahitanga in a more visible and vibrant way. As a school, we know that when values are clear, decisions are easy – and what better way to make our values clear and shared than to bring them to life through imagery, colours, symbols and stories that matter to our students and community. These values are known in our school as our MANA values; each values emblems tells a beautiful and important story, about who we are and what we want to be known for.
The interconnected koru in the shape of a heart on our Manaakitanga emblem represents how we manaaki and care for one another. The mangopare, or hammerhead shark, represents Puumautanga, reminding us to show resilience and determination in the face of challenges. The hill shape seen on the Aarahitanga emblem represents the significant maunga or mountains of our place while the poutama pattern encourages us to strive high for excellence. The interlocking koru in the Kotahitanga emblem are the waves of the Manukau harbour, Te Maanukanuka o Hoturoa, and a reminder that we are an important part of one another.
