Dear parents and whānau
Sunday 22 March, 12pm – update
Further to the announcement on Friday I am writing to confirm that our student tested negative for Covid 19. This is a huge relief for the student concerned and for our whole community.
Pukekohe High School remains closed on Monday 23 March only, to enable staff to continue to plan and prepare for what is certain to be a challenging time ahead.
School will reopen as normal on Tuesday 24 March.
As a result of the Prime Minister’s announcement at midday on Saturday we ask that all students who have compromised immunity or underlying medical conditions stay away from school for the time being. I would like to give you the strongest possible assurance that the safety and wellbeing of all our students and staff remain paramount and all other considerations are secondary.
The best way to tackle this situation is together, as a community, with students, staff, parents and whānau remaining supportive and responsive to a rapidly changing situation.
We will be in contact with further updates as soon as they arise.
