This year Pukekohe High School is joining a cohort of schools from all over New Zealand looking at how young people absorb fructose, a sugar that is found naturally in fruits, and at high levels in many processed foods. The study will specifically focus on year 9 students and all will have a chance to participate. There will be a special assembly for the year 9s this Friday P2 after the social sciences faculty present to all junior students. Information will be given out to the students then, and there will also be an information pack and permission slips given out by the science teachers to go home to parents. There will be a Whaanau hui for any parents that want further information in the Staffroom on Tuesday next week (the 13th) at 6pm.
