Approximately 30 students and 3 teachers braved the volatile landscape that is White Island, New Zealand’s largest active volcano. The students had the opportunity to find out about the rich geology taking place on the island, from tasting sulphur, drinking volcanic juice and to spotting common dolphins around the boat. The group were hosted by White Island Tours and were brilliant guides for our students to follow and to learn about the rich diversity of the island. A big well done to Mr Young, Miss Brenchley and Mrs Wild for organizing such a great authentic learning experience for our students.
