The two level 3 Business Studies classes spent the day at AUT South Campus with the Young Enterprise Scheme staff and business mentors. The day is to help the students understand how the Scheme works and to talk about their business ideas. The students have to form a virtual company, develop and sell a product as well as completing the NCEA requirements over 3 terms.
It is an exciting day and students get to talk to many business mentors about their business ideas and seek feedback on how they could operate and get ideas about potential problems they may encounter.
“It was helpful moving forward to know the best approach to take when creating our business”, says Kara Murray. Nate Palmer quoted “Today was a good experience and helped us understand how to operate our business better.” and Abby Keppel said “I think the mentors were very helpful, and that they gave us great feedback on our idea.”
