Pukekohe High School Waka Ama
Auckland Secondary School Regatta Results
Saturday 2nd March 2019

It was a pleasure to take 21 Pukekohe High School students to their very first waka ama regatta this Saturday 2nd March. Their attendance at our trainings leading up to this event was impressive, as was their participation in our water based Health & Safety activities prior to the regatta.
We are very grateful to Jennian Homes for sponsoring our uniforms, which made our school stand out and our students feel proud.

Our highest achievement of the day was winning the Auckland Secondary Schools Regional Award for school spirit and participation, both on and off the water. We were especially commended for our organisation, participation, school spirit and support when schools were called upon to volunteer their help.

Five teams participated in the regatta as featured in the photographs below. All W6 teams made it into the championship semi finals, with many continuing into the finals. We were very proud of their achievements.
